School and college workshops
Fruit Of The Vine Media can also provide stimulating and fun media workshops for schools and colleges. By combining theory and practical exercises, students learn how the media works and how to interpret it. Topics include:
- The language of media
- Why do we love movies?
- Photography and images
- Why advertising works (but not always)
- Learning why you edit
- How to write a feature
- Making up headlines
Greg is committed to helping students understand the importance of media in society and in their own lives.
"We all need to be able to filter the information and images that we receive each day and form judgements about what is true and what is not. And we constantly need to ask who or what are behind these messages. In other words, we need to be media literate."
Greg is a judge in the Tamezin Young Journalist of the Year awards, held each year in London. He is passionate about helping students who want to develop their writing and learn about how the media works.
"I believe it's important to encourage those students who have an interest in the media. As a professional, I can share with them my experiences and provide some practical tips on how to get into the industry."
